Saswati Dutta

Saswati Dutta currently teaches Political Science at Chapman University, Orange, California. She is also a Visiting Scholar at the Haas School of Business and Public Policy, University of California, Berkley working on the management of natural disasters in Asia and the Middle-East. She is also a Research Fellow at the Center for Unconventional Security Affairs, University of California, Irvine. She has earlier taught at the National Law University, Bhopal, India and at the Department of International Relations, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India. She did her PhD at the School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Her doctoral dissertation was on the Management of Natural Disasters: A Case Study of Bangladesh. Dr. Dutta has worked on various projects with CUSA, the World Bank and the United Nations on issues such as global politics, climate change, environmental disasters and human security, gender, non-traditional security and corporate social responsibility.
