Robin M. Leichenko

Robin M. Leichenko is Associate Professor and Graduate Director in the Department of Geography at Rutgers University. She holds a Ph.D. in Geography and an M.A. in Economics from Penn State University. Her research investigates the social and economic effects of global change across cities and regions in both advanced and developing countries. She is currently working on a book, co-authored with Dr. Karen O’Brien, titled, Double Exposure: Global Environmental Change in an Era of Globalization (Oxford University Press, forthcoming, 2006). Her other current research entails a comparative study of globalization and suburbanization patterns in China and the U.S. Articles based on her research have appeared in Global Environmental Change, Economic Geography, Journal of Regional Science, Growth and Change, Urban Studies, International Journal of Urban and Regional Research and a numerous of other scholarly journals.
