Andrei Marin

Andrei Marin is a Ph.D. candidate in human geography in the Institute of Geography, at the University of Bergen, Norway. His current research focuses on the vulnerability, resilience and adaptation of Mongolian pastoralists in the context of present environmental and socio-economic changes. Central issues of the research address mobility, social organisation and land tenure as elements improving/limiting the resilience and adaptation of people in variable environments. In addition, the role of formal and informal institutions in buffering or reinforcing multiple stresses is addressed. Andrei Marin has been involved in the IHDP/GECHS activities during the last years, presenting and participating in the IHDP 2005 Open Meeting and the preceeding training workshop, as well as the IDGEC Synthesis Conference in 2006.
