Hans Georg Bohle

Hans-Georg Bohle is Professor and Chair of Development Geography, University of Bonn in Germany. His research expertise is in the field of social vulnerability, risk and resilience and he has extensive research and publications in the area. He was awarded MRF Chair on Social Vulnerability at UNU-EHS for the 2006-2007 academic year, funded by the MunichRe Foundation. He is a member of the European Academy of Science and of the German Academy of Sciences Leopoldina. His recent publications include Living with Vulnerability (2007); The Political Ecology of Violence (2007); Food Vulnerability – Health Vulnerability (2008); Megacities, Resilience and Vulnerability (2008); Social Vulnerability and Livelihood Security (2009, forthcoming); Informality as Agency (2009, forthcoming).
