Hans-Georg Bohle is Professor and Chair of Cultural Geography and Development Geography, University of Bonn in Germany. His research expertise is in the area of social vulnerability and he has extensive research and publications in the area. He was awarded the prestigious MRF Chair on Social Vulnerability at UNU-EHS for the 2006-2007 academic year, funded by the MunichRe Foundation. His forthcoming publications include Vulnerability and Human Security with M. Brklacich (forthcoming in: Ehlers, E. and Krafft, T. (editors), Earth System Science in the Anthropocene, Springer-Verlag, Heidelberg) and Living with Violence. Vulnerability and War in Eastern Sri Lanka. (submitted to Political Geography).
