Kwasi Nsiah-Gyabaah is the Principal of Sunyani Polytechnic in Ghana. His research, focuses on the relationships among poverty, environmental degradation and sustainable development in peri-urban areas of Ghana. His work with the EU ENRICH project on Expanding the Network on Environment and Security has broadened his research experience and allowed him to set his West African based research within a global context. He was active in the development of the urbanization scoping team, which led to the establishment of Urbanization as a core project of IHDP in March of 2005.
